Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to a broad umbrella of technologies that enable machines to perform tasks that were formerly only capable of being carried out by humans. AI is a key enabler of what is being referred to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution and as such its usage will become prevalent right across society including the healthcare sector. There are many challenges to applying AI some of which are more salient depending on the area of application.
